A busy and rapidly expanding C&D waste recycling company in London wanted additional expert resources to help develop an EMS and QMS to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards as its small management team did not have time to do this alone. The company's client expected the company to be working towards these key certifications.

Working closely with the management team to understand the company's requirements and activities, including t, we were able to develop practical and appropriate EMS and QMS approaches that both met the ISO requirements and ensured their responsibilities towards their Environment Agency permit to operate were maintained.

Site visits to understand the operations and focused interviews with key staff members ensured the systems were tailored to the company and the reporting, monitoring and management obligations were not onerous.

Through working with the company, they understood that the EMS and QMS would benefit from a dedicated staff member. As a result, a Compliance Manager was engaged and we provided a hand over to allow the management systems to be taken in house and embedded in company behaviours.
