Integrated Skills Ltd has a number of clients who were looking to ensure compliance with their environmental permit, which means they must operate in accordance with Environment Agency (UK Regulator) requirements. Additional support was needed to develop permit compliant Fire Prevention Plans and Odour Management Plans as part of the permit documents.

Using the updated Environment Agency for Fire Prevention Plans and Guidance on Odour and site visits to a number of operational waste facilities, we developed the required documents which met the rigorous Environment Agency criteria which relate to operational issues such as site drainage (fire water containment), dedication of a quarrantine area, waste pile sizes and distances apart and the installation and maintenance of fire fighting equipment.

Through working with the companies involved and the ISL Ltd project manager, the draft documents were reviewed by the Environment Agency and amendments incorporated resulting in the acceptance of the plans meaning permit compliance.
